Jacob Winterstein is a lifelong Philadelphian. He grew up organizing in the Philadelphia Student Union. He rejoined the organization as a young adult, working as the organization’s first Director of Development. During Jacob’s tenure, PSU’s staff, members and board built a robust grassroots fundraising program.

Jacob went on to work as a poet and teaching artist. He is the co-founder of The Philly Pigeon, a collective of poets that organizes multi media poetry productions, artists retreats and slams. From 2014-2018 he was the managing director of Camp Bonfire, a summer camp for adults which he also co-founded. In 2018-19 Jacob served as the director of operations and finance on Erika Almiron’s city council campaign.
